Elective Decisions

The Satire Of Chris Davis

Kevin Bennett’s Story

with 3 comments

Kevin Christopher Bennett has an A.A. in theatre from Casper College and a B.A. in fine arts from Cornell College; and while these institutions are predominantly liberal in education and history—to a point wherein a Cornell degree is almost a certificate of indoctrination—somehow Mr. Bennett has managed to escape relatively unscathed.  He blames his unshakeable understanding of the world on an excellent upbringing headed by two happily married parents with a firm Christian foundation.  Both having come from low-income families, these two bastions of Mr. Bennett’s life have had to work for all they own, and have succeeded in every measure; largely, they believe, because of their faith in God.

For this reason, it is Mr. Bennett’s prerogative to acknowledge God in all he does, and it is also his prerogative to advance the concepts of divinity in whatever ways he can.  Working with a public that is often hostile to such a mindset—a public that calls Christian thought ignorant, backwards, and will blackball a conservative simply for stating the case of his or her faith—Mr. Bennett is often forced to estrange the underlying theme of a given work and present it esoterically.  This has led him to a varied assortment of communications media; among them poetry, fiction, science fiction, theatre, film, music, and non-fiction literature.

When he’s not tossing ideas around inside his head, he has been known to play hockey on a Men’s league, poker with “the boys”, and to read vociferously.  He currently lives in Wyoming, but is earnestly contemplating a move south–well, at least as far as Colorado.

  1. You seem to have survived Cornell without too many scars. I’m a “Townie”, Conservative and also an actor, so the attacks are continuing. keep up the great work!

  2. It can be fun to be a townie, sometimes. Wait, what am I saying? Just kidding. Keep up with the conservatism, it’s very difficult to do; you and I know that well. And good luck with theatre. I’m hoping to build a cushion myself and head to LA; I got my BA in Cornell theatre. Not the best department in the world; but I’ve got the degree, right?
