The Undeniable Genius Of Mark Levin
It cannot be overstated that Mark R. Levin is a genius. It is clearly undeniable. For those that listen to his daily radio program, it is crystal clear, and he is largely responsible for raising the IQ’s of his listeners. If we’re lucky, we have someone come along that defines conservatism, its principles, making the ideology easy to comprehend for all to read.
Liberty & Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto is exactly just that kind of book. It has clearly defined conservatism for everyone that reads the book. Its content is far above the current standard of books in the market today. This explains exactly why it’s been on the New York Times bestseller list for ten out of eleven weeks, and exactly why Mark R. Levin is an undeniable genius.
For anyone that doesn’t know, writing a book—especially a nonfiction book—is a painstaking process. First, the research alone is an almost insurmountable task. Secondly, there are rewrites done before going to the editing process. Then there’s the actual editing process that is time consuming and daunting. And finally, the book heads to a galley phase before it goes to print, on which the author must review it again.
Writing a book is an agonizing process that is done because the author has something to say. It is important to understand this—so that anyone that purchases Liberty & Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto—can appreciate the effort put forth, as well as the time involved before going to print.
Remembering this is important, because all the while, events are constantly changing around the author. So, in essence, the author must be ahead of his time. And this is where the genius of Mark Levin lies. He is truly ahead of his time.
In Liberty & Tyranny on page 7, Levin talks about Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s intention to pack the court in order to push his socialist policies on America. Levin writes, “The federal government began passing laws and creating administrative agencies at a dizzying pace, increasing its control over economic activity and, hence, individual liberty. It used taxation not merely to fund constitutionally legitimate governmental activities, but also to redistribute wealth, finance welfare programs, set prices and production limits, create huge public works programs, and establish pension and unemployment programs.”
The genius of Levin in this statement is that this could be written today under the Obama presidency, and this was written approximately eighteen months ago. He also writes on that same page, “The significance of the New Deal is not in any one program, but in its sweeping break from our founding principles and constitutional limitations.” Yet another statement that could be written today, giving us more examples of Levin’s thinking capacity and genius. And he continued that thought on page eight.
“And yet, the Statist has an insatiable appetite for control. His sights are set on his next meal even before he has fully digested his last. He is constantly agitating for government action. And in furtherance of that purpose, the Statist speaks in the tongue of the demagogue, concocting one pretext and grievance after another to manipulate public perceptions and build popular momentum for the divestiture of liberty and property from its rightful possessors.”
This paragraph gives us such an insight into Obama that it is almost inconceivable that it was written so long ago. But great thinkers are ahead of the curve, giving us warnings long before they punch us in the mouth. And they give us this warning in articles, online blogs, and in other various ways—hoping that the American people will grasp those concepts before it is too late. Levin’s book couldn’t have been more timely—a time when it seems that Republicans must define conservatism so that Americans all around them can understand the concepts.
And this is what Levin wants Americans to understand when he writes on page 15, “The Conservative must accept that the Statist does not share his passion for liberty and all the good that flows from it. The Statist does not acknowledge the tremendous benefits to society from the individual pursuits of tens of millions of others. The Statist rejects the Founders’ idea of the dignity of the individual, who can flourish through ordered liberty, for one rooted in unpredictability, irrationality and ultimately, tyranny.”
For any American to understand this, they simply need to insert the word Obama for “Statist,” and it will clearly demonstrate just how far ahead of everyone Mark R. Levin was when writing this book.
That is what puts Mark Levin ahead of all other conservatives today—his ability to understand conservative concepts, and then relate them to the average citizen so they can see how powerful and beneficial they are to everyone. Elective Decisions supports Mark Levin, not only because he did it in Liberty & Tyranny, but also because he does it so aptly in his daily radio program.
He is a giant in conservatism, and has become one of the greatest thinkers Americans can claim they have. He has a tenaciousness, a durability and a wit that allows him to deconstruct liberal arguments so that those liberals break down into personal attacks.
For those Americans that have not purchased Liberty & Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, they should run down to the book store or log online to get it as soon as possible. It isn’t just a book for 2009, but it is a book for a generation of Americans—a book that can be used to teach your children.
This is what makes Mark R. Levin an undeniable genius. His books, his articles and radio show can be used to teach a generation of Americans on conservatism, as well as refute the lies of Barack Obama, the Democratically controlled Congress, and any liberals that argue against you.
Elective Decisions thanks Mark R. Levin for his work in conservatism, his genius and his dedication to America, its cause and the American people.
Mark, read your “Men in Black” and loved it-can’t wait to read this new one.

I learned more reading this book than in the Constitutional Law class I took in college. As I read it, I wrote down the page numbers with my favorite passages and taped the list of pages to the inside of the book so when my 11-year-old son reads it, he’ll pay attention to those pages. (He wants to ask his teacher if he can get a social studies class credit for reading it.)
My favorite passages are on these pages:
20, 30, 45, 88-89, 91-92, 94, 100, 105-106, 124-127
Well done, Mark! You are an inspiration to those of us who are true Americans.

James Joyce was once asked why he wrote Ulysses and his shortened reply was,”That’s the only way of insuring one’s immortality.”
I listen to Mark’s show religiously and the insight, fire and intelligence that he brings to politics is staggering. When he calls Michael Savage and their ilk “backbenchers” he is not being arrogant – he’s being accurate. Comparing Savage with Levin is like comparing a satyr to a Hyperion.
I recommend the book to anyone concerned with where this country is heading, and who want to pick up a sword and do battle with the barbarian Leftists that encircle us.
Mark is a patriot – and a damn good radio host. God bless him and his family.

Mark, I bought your book about a month before it was released. What a most wonderful read and I am Canadian. You are a hero to many of us in Canada. I am such an avid Conservative that for the love of me I cannot understand how one can comprimise his values just to stay in power. I could never ever cede to any of my values at no price. This review might as well have been Monica Lewinski in the Oval Office. I have listened to Levin’s show and he is a waste of time. The valid points he makes are far outweighed by his obnoxious attitude. Unless you agree 100% with his views you are dog poo. Savage is cut from the same cloth. That’s OK. They are entitled to their opinions and deserve to be trailing in the ratings back benchers.

I read Mark’s book, and was impressed with it. Not everything in it was written 18 months ago, but of course, most of the research would have been. The book has much in common with that portion of “The 5000 Year Leap” I have read so far. I’m not really surprised by that, since principles should be immutable.
Personally, I would have liked footnotes rather than endnotes because endnotes require more work to verify a given author’s quotations and conclusions. See, I’ve learned not to take completely at face value what any author says; whether I generally tend to agree, as I do with Mark, or disagree. I try to do a certain amount of due diligence, especially when the source is as simple to check as a website. It makes by book-reading take longer, but makes me more informed overall and allows me to come to a conclusion and agree with the author based on firsthand information rather than secondhand.
Mark, great book! Thank me.

I absolutely concur with this sentiment. Mark Levin in The White House would be a combination of George Washington and George Walker Bush, the most powerful general in the army of Liberty, risking personal property and family for The Declaration of Independence, who can sit down and enjoy a peanut butter & jelly sandwich (or, better yet, a Philly cheesesteak sandwich or some chinese noodles) instead of $100 per pound steak while chattering with Rush Limbaugh on the other side of the table in Presidential kitchen. What could be better for the cause of our creator’s will for us in this present world? Can you say, “Mark’s a better candidate than Sarah”……..???
Sometimes I wonder how General Levin remembers his youth when he won a seat on the school board. This man has the heart to make Ronald Reagan look like a back bencher. This is not to take away from the idea that Sarah would be a great Vice-President with Mark.

Mark,
The man is a self serving, egotistical, blowhard who does more to hurt the conservatives then he does to help. It is people like him that helped bring us President Obama. If people like him and Limbaugh, and Hannity, etc. had spent less time taking Hillary apart ahead of the election and did it during the campaign, the GOP (not conservatives) might have stood a chance. The GOP has a lot of problems and some little man screaming into a microphone for three hours a night is not the answer. If that’s your idea of conservatism, you can keep it. To me it sounds like the right’s version of Air America or the DailyKOS, which suck as well.

I love this man. Mark Reed Levin is somebody I wish could have been my grandfather, father or uncle. Sadly, I was raised up by a man who hated God and my mom was clueless, having been raised up in France, though she was required to learn The Constitution and The English Language in 1958. On top of that, they divorced when I was only 10 years old. It’s amazing that my daddy knew enough to call The Sacramento Bee, “…that Commie rag.” He also taught me to always vote Republican. Of course, voting that simply doesn’t work so well now that we have a Fifth Column in our party.
But when I was young, it was my dream to become a lawyer as I looked about 40 years into the future and wondered who I’d be in the year 2000. Dad always said I should become POTUS. But I’m too impatient in debates, get straight to the deconstruction of the opponents’ lies in terms that cause them to hang up the phone on me or walk out through my front door and look for some way to destroy my life. I suffer such results to this very day. I made my self completely ineffective for my father’s dream for me.
The genius of Mark Levin is that, while he might be a bit short tempered and very angry at people who wish to destroy our beautiful United States of America, he has the self control (unlike me) to deconstruct lies and bring forth the truth even in venues that are filled with power, places like courtrooms where powers that be are (in our generation) enemies to Liberty. More than this, he has the heart to put aside fear for his own interests to speak out, boldly, in his effort to love other human beings. This is what makes him victorious in so many manners that I can hardly list them.
This is also what makes The Left eerily silent about him. Oh, yes, it’s true. They’ll attack great American patriots like Sarah Louise Heath Palin and Rush Hudson Limbaugh III with a vengeance. But if they give Mark Reed Levin any free publicity, it’d be political suicide in their minds. The only other Conservative that I can think of who gets this eery silence is Devin Nunes, Representative to The House from California’s 21st District. Don’t ask me why. All I know is this man sent me a personally signed letter after I’d contacted him as a constituent for his vote against Obama’s trillion dollar ACORN stimulus bill. Plus I’m pretty sure that he wears a white hat like my former Governor, Ronald Reagan, did.
What Mark Levin and Devin Nunes has is that The Left are totally afraid to engage him in any form of debate. Whether that means The Left is more or less afraid of Mark’s and Devin’s power to win Liberty for us vs. the power of Ronald and Sarah, who knows?
Never the less, I totally admire a man who loves the Liberty that our creator gave us while leaving his enemies speechless.
This is why we, all of us, name Mark, “The Great One.” (This book reviewer’s not too shabby, either.)

I spent the better part of two years researching the candidates for last year’s election on the internet. I’m so glad that I bought a computer in 2006.
The people who keep barking at the good guys on television news shows had given me doubts so grave that I actually abandoned the Republican party and became an Independent.
But as I discovered all the news stories buried in outlets like the NY Times and Washington Post, I knew that I’d been the victim of lies. They were hiding any good thing that Bush & Cheney were doing and telling bold-faced lies about these men on the front pages.
About a week before November 4th, I stumbled onto Talk Radio while doing my internet research. If only I’d known that Mark Levin was right there on my desk radio every day, I could have saved a lot of time finding out the truth. Even better, he lets us play his shows any time it fits our schedules by using his web site for free.
I never leave my bunker either. Living in the heart of California’s agriculture, there are way too many barking girls on tractors around here. The ones who drive Massey-Fergusons are particularly incapable of debating facts. Even worse, they seem to be rabid. As it turns out, the foaming at the mouth is just Preperation H.
