Top 15 Greatest Moments From Rush Limbaugh The Television Show

Great men aren’t born; rather, they are developed amidst failures and successes.  Great men don’t inherit leadership skills—as if they’re inheriting a relative’s fortune—they learn and use those skills to propel them to success.

For example, George Washington was born a Virginia planter and became the President of the United States—not by inheritance or lineage, but by developing those qualities of leadership that demanded he become America’s first president.  He was principled, and in his view, America came first, regardless of any local designation or title.

In his farewell address to the nation in 1796, George Washington said, “Citizens by birth or choice of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of Patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discriminations.”

This is just one of the qualities of Washington’s leadership that made him a great man—a quality that Barack Obama sorely lacks.  The Founding Fathers believed that America came first, and they sacrificed themselves for the American cause.  They did not ask the American people to sacrifice for them.  In their view, Barack Obama would be held in utter contempt, a person that would be regarded as an enemy of America—someone that spits on everything they worked so hard to achieve.

That same quality of patriotism can be found in Rush Hudson Limbaugh III.  He loves America, and that’s part of what drives him to success.  It’s part of why he is a great man.  He is labeled as “divisive” because he loves America.  Those that support Obama hate America, seeing it as an enemy to their lives and local appellations.  And they scorn Limbaugh because he loves the country so, forgetting that they could not have achieved their success in any other country.

Have we not witnessed Limbaugh’s sacrifice for America, and to the cause of conservatism?  We have indeed.  He does it because he is a leader in that cause.  And he does it with flare and panache.  At Elective Decisions, we salute his leadership, his flare, and panache on which he leads the conservative movement, gathering the fifteen greatest moments from the Rush Limbaugh The Television Show.  As the week long tribute to Rush Limbaugh continues, Elective Decisions, urges those 24/7 members to go in and enjoy the video once again.

Elective Decisions Ranked Them In This Order:

1515.    Rush Debuts His Television Show On September 14, 1992, With A Blue Dot In Front Of His Face.  In this display of patriotism, he fought against all the odds to work his way into American home after American home.  He dominated Leno and Letterman, climbing his way to the top of late night television.  His humor and presentation demanded his audience stay tuned.  “I stand accused of being the most heinous American alive today. Why? Because I…am a conservative,” Rush stated at the top of the show.  And history began.

1414.    Rush Recalls His Israeli Visit On September 15, 1993.  According to Rush Limbaugh.com, “In the summer of 1993, Rush took a five-day, whirlwind tour of Israel. With that nation in the throes of brutal terrorist attacks, we decided to bring you Rush’s recap of the trip on Rush Limbaugh the Television Show’s September 15th episode that year. The trip included a variety of sights, meetings with high-ranking officials in the Knesset, then-General Ariel Sharon, future Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and with then-Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.”  Sharing the information with the American people gave them a better understanding of the plight that Israel faced on a daily basis.  It also exhibited his love of liberty and devotion to Israel’s right to defend their sovereignty against Hamas terrorists.

1313.      Katie Couric Cooks A Lobster.  There is no better example of Rush’s ability to illustrate the absurdity of liberals than on June 13, 1994, when Katie Couric faced the daunting task of watching the preparation and cooking of a lobster.  Viewing Katie’s moans and groans over the “pain” the lobster was feeling was utterly hilarious.  Or as Rush illustrated their stupidity, saying “Lobsters are a gift from God, folks – and an excuse to eat butter. Everybody knows that they’re brainless crustaceans, but that didn’t matter to some of the kooks out there: The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. USA Today’s story reported that PETA planned to sue the restaurant owners for cruelty! Talk about projecting your emotions onto others! It’s a great example of liberal absurdity, and their belief that the government should tell you how to live – right down to what you eat for dinner!”  We at Elective Decisions think so as well.

1212.    EIB Collection For Clinton Legal Fund, June 24, 1994.  As an excellent demonstration of liberal hypocrisy, Rush shows us just how frugal liberals are, even when it comes to their own president.  “In the spirit of the times,” Rush explains, “we decided to send one of our Rush Limbaugh the Television Show staff out on the streets of New York City back in 1994 to collect $1,000 for the Clinton fund. As always, liberals were all talk with your money, but when it came time to pony up, they turned away. Luckily, Mr. Clinton never paid his bills anyway.”  Once again, Rush gives embarrasses liberals, and shows us just how much they love to spend your money instead.

1111.    From December 25, 1992, God Rest Ye Merry, Feminists.  As another example of Rush illustrating the absurdity of feminism, with hilarity, he led the audience in a sing-a-long to a classic Christmas carol.  As stated on Rush Limbaugh.com, “This provided a golden opportunity for Rush to ‘illustrate absurdity by being absurd.’ Thanks to these nutty gals teeing up the ball so nicely, Rush and the audience knocked the joke straight out of the park. This is the great difference between conservatives and so-called liberals. When they find someone on the right acting nutty, they just freak out and start screaming. But when we catch them making fools of themselves, man, we just have a high old time!”

1010.    Clinton’s Laugh/Cry Video On April 15, 1996.  The finest example of Bill Clinton on video to this date in history.  Rush outdoes himself with this one, saying, “When I set out to choose the TV show clip to kick off our Best Of series, the decision made itself. After all, one of the most memorable moments in broadcast history occurred on our show of Monday, April 15th, 1996, when we aired our first encore of the now-infamous video of Bill Clinton leaving Commerce Secretary Ron Brown’s memorial service.”
Rush continued, telling us the details of just how it happened.  “As you know, Brown had been killed tragically in a plane crash, and yet here came Clinton, walking out of the memorial laughing and yucking it up and having a fabulous time with Tony Campolo, who would later be known as his “spiritual advisor.” The issue wasn’t whether or not you can laugh at a memorial, and maybe share a happy memory of the deceased. No, the remarkable thing about this video occurred the moment the now-former president spied a camera trained on him.  Within one half a step of spotting that lens – bam! Clinton’s laughter becomes tearful crying, and he dabs away at his eyes. It’s clearly an act, and a disturbing demonstration of the man’s disingenuousness. This one piece of video was the finest, most-thorough, clearest and best illustration of William Jefferson Blythe Clinton that there ever was. The insincerity, the fakery, and the ability to sell all that to people, were clearly on display.”  Clearly on display was Rush’s ability to catch the phony attributes of Clinton and liberalism.

99.  The Great American Oil Ignorance on May 1, 1996.  Rush has reached more Americans, wiping away their ignorance on Big Oil.  And on this show, there is no better proof of America’s stupidity when it comes to oil exploration and gas prices.  “We sent a reporter out on the streets and had him ask a simple question: Who do you think is to blame for the recent rise in gasoline prices? The answers shocked the audience, because not one person talked about supply and demand,” Rush says.  “Everyone had one of these conspiracy theories ready to go, and launched into it with all the passion of someone who had facts behind them – though they only had emotion and hatred.”  But at Elective Decisions, we’re not ignorant on a basic understanding of economics, and we salute you Rush for explaining that theory over and over again.

88.  From February 5, 1993, Rush Tapes A Cell Phone To His Head.  In yet another example of illustrating absurdity on the dangers of cell phone usage, Rush tapes a cell phone to his head and it results in hilarity, showing us more examples of their inanity.  “To show his solidarity with the then-budding cellular phone industry,” as explained at Rush Limbaugh.com, “Rush came up with an idea – and in the process, made broadcast history as the first talk show host to do an entire program with a cell phone taped to his head! Yes, you read right. Rush had a big, important dinner after that program, but risked temporary harm to his hair by adhering one of those bulky, 1993 cellular devices to his ample cranium.”

77.  From January 21, 1993, Bo Snerdley Reads Maya Angelou.  In recognition of America’s “First Black President,” Rush allows ‘Bo “Angelou” Snerdly’ to read a poem, while making fun of liberals.  “So on the January 21, 1993 episode of Rush Limbaugh the TV Show we had a little fun. Rush welcomed Bo “Angelou” Snerdly and let him read his own poem for Bill Clinton. The audience reaction to our own poet laureate? Thunderous applause! Endless cheering! Screams of passion and tears of joy! It’s moving stuff, folks,” declares Rush Limbaugh.com.  Elective Decisions thinks it’s hilarious.  So kudos to Bo “Angelou” Snerdly for so aptly making fun of liberals.

66. Democrats Freak Out After ’94 Landslide on September 21, 1995.  “Of course, the media ignored this inability to rationally accept that the people preferred the Contract with America to the Democrat Party, but Rush focused the light of truth on this fact in his September 21, 1995 show,” as explained at Rush Limbaugh.com.  “On that show, Rush played a clip in which a beet-red-faced Congressman Sam Gibbons likens the GOP to the Nazis, and followed that ridiculous charge up along with several other Democrats in desperate need of sedation.”  A great example of the compassion shown by liberals, as well as an example of what they’re like when out of power.

55.  From June 29, 1994, Fourteen Commandments Of The Religious Left.  A great demonstration of how hypocritical the religious left is when it comes their belief of liberalism, and an almost cult-like status.  Listen to all of them at Rush Limbaugh.com:  “Self-esteem, recycling, victimology, abortion, father-bashing, Reagan-hating and lies about tax cuts all made the list. This list illustrates brilliantly one reason Rush resonates with so many Americans – and why he strikes fear into the hearts of the Religious Left while doing so. He knows where these people are coming from. He knows how dangerous they are to liberty and the values that made America great.”

44.  Dan’s Bake Sale On May 24, 1993.  If you’re a new listener to Rush Limbaugh, you should sign up for the 24/7 membership so you can witness the phenomenon of a free market economy, and how it works.  Dan’s Bake Sale was a classic example of conservatism and a free market economy in full display for the American people.  It is definitely a spit in the eye of socialism.  “Longtime listeners of my radio program should get ready for a little trip down memory lane,” Rush says, “because I get a lot of questions from new dittoheads asking, “What was Dan’s Bake Sale?” Answer: A phenomenon that occurred way back in the early 90s when a crowd of 80,000 people showed up in Fort Collins, Colorado from all across the country, on a Saturday – and it wasn’t even a political event!”

33.  A Tribute To The First Rush Hudson Limbaugh On April 9, 1996.  It was one of his most moving shows, paying a tribute to his grandfather, Rush Hudson Limbaugh, while celebrating all his accomplishments in this great country called America.  Rush Hudson Limbaugh defied liberalism, working to earn everything he had.  It is indeed a story of success for every American at Rush Limbaugh.com:  “On the April 9, 1996 episode of Rush Limbaugh the Television Show, the day after Rush’s grandfather passed away at the ripe age of 104, we did a tribute to this most-amazing man. He was born at a time when he had more in common with people born 400 years before than they did with those alive today. Rush the first saw many things over the course of his life that people thought were happening for the first time, and that taught his grandson a lot.”

22.  Ronald Reagan Writes Rush On December 12, 1992.  To be honored by Ronald Reagan is one of the highest honors anyone can receive.  He is the greatest President of the United States in my lifetime, and a show worth watching for 24/7 members.  Listen, as Reagan’s letter stirs even the most hardened of individuals in his praise of Rush Hudson Limbaugh III:  “Thanks for all you’re doing to promote Republican and conservative principles,” the former president wrote. “Now that I’ve retired from active politics, I don’t mind that you’ve become the number one voice for conservatism.”  At Elective Decisions, we think he’s still the number one voice for conservatism, and is still fighting back in the wake of unhinged liberalism.

11.  From February 6, 1996, Rush’s Tribute To Ronald Reagan.  It wasn’t easy to pick number one, but Rush Limbaugh’s February show on which he paid tribute to Ronald Reagan clearly led the way.  Reagan’s optimism and clear conservative voice was a beacon in the darkness.  Today, we still search for that kind of leader in Washington.  Having no leader in Washington, we cling to Rush to give us that very voice we so ardently wish to elect.  This show is a must see for any dittohead or conservative to remind them of what is possible.  Log on and sign up at Rush Limbaugh.com to see and relive the Reagan experience again:  “The show shows off the complete Reagan, his boundless optimism, unparalleled oratory skills that earned him the moniker, The Great Communicator – and magic moments, in which Reagan articulated core conservative values and principles, in the process, changing the course of world history.”

Despite the constant attacks from the mainstream media, at Elective Decisions, we understand Rush Hudson Limbaugh III’s accomplishments.  We know that he speaks for conservatism and America.  We understand that he loves this great country, and is willing to do what it takes to echo those sentiments for all Americans to see.

Rush Limbaugh The Television Show was a perfect example of his optimism, love of country and sacrifice for the American cause.  He is a leader, precisely because he takes to the airwaves everyday to defend this Republic from the constant promotion of a growing federal government, and its proponents.  From a Top 40 Disc Jockey To Talk Radio Guru, he works long, unappreciated hours, and here at Elective Decisions, we haven’t forgotten his sacrifice.

So thank you Rush Hudson Limbaugh III.  Thank you for all you do and for your continued efforts in helping to keep our liberties!

  3. Mr. Limbaugh (Rush) is a great man who speaks the truth. The reason that he is attacked and hated so much by the left is precisely because he does speak the truth. It is only though people like Rush that we will be able to pull this country back from the brink of socialism.
